At 7:00 PM on October 28, the 2017 WKA Kungfu King of the World Championship, jointly organized by the Chinese Wushu Association and Guowu Times International Cultural Media (Beijing) Co., Ltd., took place at the National Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing.

The event delivered an exciting and thrilling feast of martial arts to audiences across the country. It also celebrated the successful conclusion of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with a competition full of national pride.

From 2000 to 2002, Guowu Media, in strong partnership with the Wushu Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Wushu Association, and Hunan TV, successfully organized and hosted the "China Wushu Sanda King Championships" (1st and 2nd editions), which were title-sponsored by Tuopai. Since then, China witnessed the crowning of its first-ever lightweight, middleweight, heavyweight, and super heavyweight Sanda Kings.
